It looks like the EVOS franchise is trying to make a comeback in the Philippines.

With the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines shifting to a franchise-based model, EVOS, one of the most decorated organizations in the ML scene, is currently vying for one of the eight slots this coming Season Eight as confirmed by Tiebreaker Times’ sources.

Multiple sources have told Tiebreaker Times that the franchise based in Jakarta, Indonesia is currently in negotiations to acquire the Mobile Legends roster of Nexplay Esports.

If the plan pushes through, EVOS will have plenty of talent in its arsenal with the troika of John Paul “H2Wo” Salonga, Renejay “Renejay” Barcarse, and Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera leading the way. Completing the Nexplay roster are veteran Dexter “Exort” Martinez and incoming sophomores James “Jeymz” Gloria and Lance “LanceCy” Cunanan.

Nexplay Esports capped off the Season Seven regular season at fourth place in Group B with a 6-7 standing. The team, though, suffered another first-round exit after receiving the boot from rookie Work Auster Force via a 1-3 result in the lower bracket.

It is still unknown, however, if EVOS plans to retain the current roster or add some new faces in the mix.

EVOS is one of the first foreign organizations to enter the Philippine scene. Back in Season Three, the Indonesian team acquired the roster of SXC Imbalance which has the likes of Salic “Hadjizy” Imam, Reniel “HONDA BEAST” Encisa, Archi “KILLER” Valencia, and now MPL champions Dexter “DEX STAR” Alaba and Kristoffer “BON CHAN” Ricaplaza.

However, due to the team’s subpar performance in Season Four, EVOS decided to pull out. The roster eventually went to Tier One Entertainment’s Blacklist International – which is now the MPL-Philippines Season Seven champion.

Currently, the EVOS franchise has three MPL teams in EVOS Legends (Indonesia), EVOS SG (Singapore), and Suhaz EVOS (Malaysia).

EVOS Legends, the first-ever Mobile Legends world champion, captured its second MPL Indonesia title last month against Bigetron Alpha. On the other hand, EVOS SG won the first-ever MPL Singapore in the same month. The Singapore squad now has two titles after winning the fourth season of MPL MY/SG.
